Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

Leonardo Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician in the Middle Ages, described a sequence of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two numbers preceding it in the series (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34...).

On agave plants the Fibonacci numbers can be found by counting the number of laps around the stem before a leaf is found in the same orientation on the stem as the starting leaf. Another method is to count the number of leaves passed between the starting leaf and the next leaf found in the same position, you will find another Fibonacci number. An Agaves 8/21 phyllotaxy for example means that a spiral of 21 leaves will be counted in 8 complete turns around the stem.

If you calculate the ratios created by Agave phyllotaxy (2/5, 3/8, 5/13, 8/21, 13/34...), they get closer and closer to the fraction of 360 degrees known as the Fibonacci Angle or the Golden Angle. As the Agave's stem slowly grows, each leaf is initiated at this angle of about 137.5' from the...

About Claudia Goodell

Claudia Goodell

I rediscovered my love for art and found my passion for oil painting after being diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia in 2005. Having previously worked as an audiologist and later in pharmaceuticals, chronic disease forced me to abandon my career to stay home and rest. What I didn't know was that a new opportunity was blooming. During this challenging period of change I was encouraged by my son-in-law, a very talented artist, to "just paint", but shortly thereafter we lost him to suicide. Having inherited the contents of his studio, his influence is present in my work. In the early years of learning to cope with all the loss and limitations that came with this chronic disease I felt...
