Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

Inspired by a sketch "Clinging" represents the dangers of clinging. Grasping onto the false idea that things are permanent, and cravings for sameness, ritual, and the comfort derived from such practices can lead to disappointment and discomfort. For those with disease or disability only letting go will save one from the suffering that will come with clinging.
This image is a reminder of the beauty that comes from letting go of the grasp; that moment when one liberates oneself and begins to ascend from the depths of the stronghold created by the clinging. The bubbles are a sign that there is no longer clinging, but release, rising from the grasp and going toward the light of freedom.
This piece incorporates the style called "Curvismo" developed by Ricardo Chavez Mendez, my mentor in art and all things metaphoric.
I rediscovered my love for art and found my passion for oil painting after being diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia in 2005. Having previously worked as an audiologist and later in pharmaceuticals, chronic disease forced me to abandon my career to stay home and rest. What I didn't know was that a new opportunity was blooming. During this challenging period of change I was encouraged by my son-in-law, a very talented artist, to "just paint", but shortly thereafter we lost him to suicide. Having inherited the contents of his studio, his influence is present in my work.
