Artist's Description
This image is part of my Heart series, and this gem was discovered while in a mountain bike race in San Ysidro, New Mexico. My friend and cycling teammate and I decided to stop and pull over for a minute to eat a snack, and I happened to look down and there it was, just like it appears here.
About Claudia Goodell
I rediscovered my love for art and found my passion for oil painting after being diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia in 2005. Having previously worked as an audiologist and later in pharmaceuticals, chronic disease forced me to abandon my career to stay home and rest. What I didn't know was that a new opportunity was blooming. During this challenging period of change I was encouraged by my son-in-law, a very talented artist, to "just paint", but shortly thereafter we lost him to suicide. Claudia, your work is simply beautiful and inspiring. Your story touched my heart. I am a new photographer in way self taught. I collect images of Hearts from all over the world. They "come to me" as the rainbow comes to those in hope of God's love. I have collected them for decades in the form of rocks at first. People bring them to me from all over the world.
